Build confidence in the kitchen with Chef Kyle Caulkins in this Charleston Baking Basics class that teaches essential techniques through a curated selection of Southern and Lowcountry-inspired treats.
In this class, you’ll learn foundational baking methods by making a variety of recipes from start to finish, including tender buttermilk biscuits, classic coconut macaroons, hummingbird muffins, and bright key lime bars with a buttery shortbread crust. Along the way, we’ll cover proper measuring, mixing methods, dough handling, baking temperatures, and how to recognize doneness, plus plenty of tips for avoiding common baking mistakes at home.
Designed for beginners and confident home bakers alike, this class focuses on understanding the “why” behind the recipes, not just following steps. You’ll leave with a box full of baked goods, printed recipes, and the skills needed to confidently tackle future baking projects.
