Whether you’re a curious home cook or simply a sushi lover, this class will give you the confidence to begin making sushi yourself.
Led by Dean Wangwright, founder of Umami Lab, this workshop blends practical technique with insight into Japanese culinary traditions. Dean is a food writer and culinary educator who explores how Japanese cuisine can be practiced and shared beyond its traditional context. With years of culinary training and restaurant management experience in both Japan and the United States—and more than fifteen years advising restaurants on concept development, menu design, and staff training—he brings a deep understanding of authentic Japanese flavors and how they translate into everyday kitchens.
